Recognize this awesome guider? Mary has been a guider for more than 30 years – and we all appreciate her warm-hearted smile and pitch-in attitude. It turns out that the City of Burnaby also recognizes Mary. She is Burnaby's Outstanding Citizen of the Year for 2021, and recipient of the Kuroshiro Cup. Mary is also involved in community policing, as a Block Watch captain, on the police advisory committee, and volunteering in a community police office. Mary is an example of how volunteers make huge contributions to their communities. So many Guiding members give their time to other organizations as well. This National Volunteer Week, we see you and we thank you!!

Get ready to be dazzled! West Coast Area's year-end celebration is Saturday, June 4th, at Swangard Stadium.
Event activities include: a fun zone, activity zone, and trader zone. Concessions will be available. The evening will end with an outdoor showing of SING 2 on a colossal screen. We need your help to make this happen: more volunteers = more activity choices. As this is a family event, guiders are not required for ratio. All guiders are welcome to help—this is a girl-facing event. Volunteer here: https://forms.gle/WBU8xXjoG4zBUttx5 |
