'Tis the season for Girl Guide cookies.
This year, Girl Guides are offering online sales. Order from the comfort of your home or office —or the beach, a park, even the ferry terminal—and your cookies will be delivered. How does it work? Ask the nearest Spark, Brownie, Guide, Pathfinder, or Ranger for their unit's cookie page. Each unit has a dedicated sales page, so you can support girls and leaders that you know. Or feel free to support any unit in our Area. Check our Area Twitter for promotions by different units: @WCAGirlGuides. Why buy Girl Guide cookies? These cookies are not just tasty. With the funds we raise through cookie sales, girls can take the lead and develop important life skills. Cookies fuel unlimited adventures, countless confidence-building moments, and ready-for-anything adaptability! Selling cookies also teaches girls about finances and responsibility, courtesy and interpersonal interactions, as well as providing marketing and entrepreneurial opportunities. Thank you for supporting girls and young women!

We're back to Guiding this fall! After an unusual spring and summer, with many units going to virtual meetings, we were given the thumbs-up to start in-person meetings.
So what does that mean? Here in the Lower Mainland, we are in the Outdoor Level 1 phase for Guiding. We can meet outdoors, with all participants wearing masks and using enhanced handwashing and cleaning protocols. We use a pre-meeting screening checklist and contact tracing to ensure everyone's safety. Our girls and leaders are having a fantastic time! Exploring nature, taking hikes, geocaching, playing games, practicing camp skills, doing science experiments, and creating art. With lots of fun to come! Stay tuned for more details from your unit leaders. |
