River's Edge District did apple tree grafting at Woodward's Landing in April. All the branches participated, with older Guides and Pathfinders helping the Sparks and Embers.
Each person had a planted root stock and spliced it with an apple tree. Apple varieties included Spartan, Gala, Ambrosia, Jona, and more. Tree grafting was followed by lunch and a campfire sing song. All the participants had a great time and took their own apple tree home. A great big thank you to Kathryn Garforth for organizing and teaching everyone how to graft an apple tree. And to the Trefoil members who came out to help serve lunch.
